One of the buzziest corridors on the east side of Fort Worth is getting its own rendition of a popular bakery on Magnolia Avenue
Stir Crazy Baked Goods is opening a second location at 2707 Race St., Ste. 121, sharing a building with Frida Beauty Collective, right next to the former Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Stir Crazy’s 850-square-foot space, which will be designed by Fort Worth architecture firm 97w, will be a “micro-sized” version of the Magnolia Avenue flagship, serving mostly the same menu of cakes, pies, quiches, and other goodies, Stir Crazy owner Robbie Werner says.
“It’s going to be a little bakery,” she says, “but it’s going to have a lot of punch.”
Werner started Stir Crazy almost a decade ago in the Near Southside, first working out of a warehouse on South Main Street (long before it became, well, the South Main Street of today) then opening on Magnolia in 2015. She says business has quadrupled ever since, and it continues to grow as the bakery takes on more wholesale accounts and events.
When the time came to expand, Race Street was the first and only spot that came to mind, Werner says, due to the neighborhood’s familial vibe and emphasis on locally owned enterprises. Werner officially signed the lease on May 5.
“It has a true, genuine neighborhood feel,” she says. “That’s something I’m really excited to be a part of.”
While construction timelines can be unpredictable, Werner says she’s aiming for a July opening.
